Well, as we all know, a womans worst enemy is weight. Wouldnt you agree? Yepp me too!
Thing is, since i can remember ive always been chubby but still well porportioned, sometimes even better than the skinny models you see on the magazines or TV shows.
With my latin genes im both short and have pretty big hips (not to mention my chest =O ). Ive always hated going out shopping for clothes cause nothing hardly fits well on my chest, or then its too tight on my chest but loose on my belly. And almost always tight on my waist or thigh cause of my hips.
Besides all these "wonderful" things that i have got *irony* i also have these ankle and legs that are always swollen, which also makes it hard to make a good and stylish pant fit, but i manage.. and ill tell you how in this clothes post.
Ooh i almost forgot....another thing i actually got from my father is his shoulders and bone structure, which makes me also have to cut off some types of tops.
So, now we all know my problems.
- Short in height
- swollen ankles and legs
- big hips
- big chest
- daddys shoulders
- chubby
So what can a person like this use?? Well.. it took me like 26 years to understand the right fit :D.
Here it goes:
For the short height (as well as for the swollen legs and ankles) you shouldn't use hip hop pants, or at least not tooooo baggy. The baggier you pick, the shorter you look. Also, in the hippie times, it was very common to have these big baggy elephant pants (as they call it) which grow the further down you go,
like this one -------------------------------------------------------------->
This look might fit tall girls, but if you are short the baggy-end of the pant will just make you look even shorter. Also be careful with the shortness and cut of a dress. If its too close or just below your knee, the chances are that you look more like a dwarf :P
For the swollen legs and ankles you should never use tight fitted pants, such as skinny jeans. I looks horrible and most of the times it makes your legs and ankles look much bigger than they are. Avoid having leggings that are just close to the knee. The picture you see bellow is a perfect fit. As you can see more than half of the leg is covered and it makes it look slimmer but still tight.
For the hips you should try to find tops and shirts that are not tight on your hips because it simply makes it look bigger. Its a sad, sad truth....
Tunics normally looks good, as long as its not tight. It has to be those that are open on the side. It can be a nice detail as well.
For the big chest you should try to find closes that are bigger than your actual size and then use a sewing machine (if you have one) or then by hand fit it better on your belly so its a good fit. Its always better that its bigger than smaller size cause you can make big to small but not the other way round... unless not without other people noticing.
Also, as girls knows, the bra really makes a difference. Big chested girls should not use bras with thin straps for 2 reasons.
- 1, its heavy for your back since it doesn't lift it up cause of the weight. In other wordds, your back is holding all the weight still.
- 2, it makes marks on your shoulders easily, makes your shoulders look bigger and it just doesn't look good.
With just a 2 - 2,5 cm straps you can see a huge difference, and your back feeling much better.
Also, and it sucks to say this, but the bra should cover the whole chest. Not like the push up bra.
Can you see the difference between these pics and which looks more firm and better under a top?
Another thing that is good to remember, big chested girls should not show too much or have too low cut tops cause it looks vulgar and not really nice. Even though in this world some people might think its nice but....................................... ............................. ........................... .
well, here is what i mean.. Take a minute to decide which one of these two pictures bellow looks better.
PS: The girls have the same size...
Last tip: If you are chubby or really over weight, the more you lift your chest up and use bigger straps, the less rolls you get on the back, see through your shirt.
Another important thing when you have bigger chest is the type of shirt. Personally i like it when you can see my shape, and not that the size of my chest make the shirt just hang down and makes my body shape go. What I always do is get shirts that has been done with Stretch underline thread. Ill come back to that later.
For the strong and big shoulders you have to be careful with what you put on. You shouldn't for example put on strapless tops or dresses. Its a big No No!! Unless you wanna look bigger of course. Sadly, the truth is that the less you have on your shoulders the bigger they look.
A solution for that is to use tops or dresses with bigger straps, and if you absolutely have to have a strapless dress then have like a small jacket/or something covering the shoulders. But this DOES NOT mean you cant show off a big of skin and feeling sexy still. Ill give you more tips when i come to different models I have made.
For the chubby (applies to the really over weight too), the less stretchy/tight on your body, the more thinner you look. WHY?, you wonder... well, cause even if its not showing your body shape, you leave more for the imagination of the other people looking at you. Now days when I'm in town i see some girls and i feel so sad and bad for them. And the funny thing is that its not necessarily the over weight I'm talking about. When people uses 2-3 sizes smaller than the one they really are, the body tends to make rolls. Its obvious and doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
Also, a good tip is that a bit bigger people shouldnt use 100% stretch material, and if you do, it should be half stretch and thick. polyester with a bit of stretch is a good idea to look at.
If you want to know what kind of clothes im talking about, take a look at my up coming blog, called "My Clothes, All By Myself".
One thing though, I do use stretch on my clothes, but thats cause I CAN. But a bit bigger, still pretty , peopel should use less stretch.. Just something to keep in mind.
Cheers People, and thank you for reading my blog.
